Titles are positions of power created by The Concord to oversee elements of its function. They are attainable by characters in order to impart their will upon the world and game of Concord. Titles originate from a variety of sources. For example, some are attached to Commissions that the Senate can undertake (such as General, Admiral, or Spy Master). Others exist following a decree by their attached council (such as Archmage or any of the High Priests) Titles vary in their function, term, and election methods widely. But there are a number of default rules that apply to all titles. They are as follows;
Unless stated otherwise, a Concordian Citizen may not hold more than one title.
If a title is rendered unoccupied, it will be reelected at the nearest convenience.
This process can be forestalled if enough of the constituents vote to forestall the motion.
A character must be present to be nominated for a title, if nomination is possible for that title.
No proxies are possible.
All new titles require Civil Service approval, a process conducted between Summits.
Created titles will be announced in The Civil Service Report of the Winds.
A character will no longer control a title once the Summit where it would be reassigned begins.
This means that that they would not gain incomes, reports or other similar effects, instead, they will be given to whoever occupies the position upon its re-election.
A character can abdicate any title at any time by informing a member of the Civil Service.
Characters can campaign for another title while currently hold a title and will only be required to abdicate if they are successful in their election. There are some titles that cannot be abdicated, this will be listed in their terms as abdication not being an option.
If a titleholder would be absent for at least half the summits of their term, they are removed from the title.
For one year titles, this is a single summit. For two year titles, it is two summits in a row. When the final summit begins and you are not in attendence, the title will be put up for election.
