This title was made defunct as of Autumn 226 - Further information can be found here
Overview
In an assistive role, the Senate Treasurer works with the Civil Service to better understand the economic pressures and boons that The Concord is experiencing to facilitate the Senate pursuing of sound monetary policy. While much of the Concordian tax system is enshrined in complex legal minutiae, the treasurer gains a greater understanding of the pressures that are placed upon The Concord as a whole.
Election
The Senate Treasurer is elected every Autumn Summit by a Senate Vote. Any Concordian Citizen without a title can stand. Each Senator may nominate one candidate for election.
Term
1 Year. There is no term limit.
Powers
Right of Address: The Senate Treasurer may speak before the senate without a vote during the address.
Access to the Accounts: The Senate Treasurer will receive a briefing from the Civil Service Financial Service at each Summit. This normally takes the form of a written Treasurers Report. Prior treasurer's reports are available by request of a Senator but the report that is most recent is only available to the Treasurer (although they may do with it as they see fit) in order to protect the title from undue meddling or misrepresentation of data by the Senate.
History
The title of Senate Treasurer was created at the end of The Concord’s first year, being signed into law by the Senate in the final session of Summer 221, although not elected at the time due to the absence of a prepared Treasurers Report.
