History

When The Low came to Passage, it offered a number of wealthy individuals opportunities to invest in the ambitions of others, to bring them out of their own lowly suffering. In the aftermath of this, there was a resounding success by one of those who had been invested in, and they saw fit to return the investment in their prospecting with not just a large volume of resources, but also the initial work on the mines that had been purchased - all assisted by the Grace of The Low.

The Church did not immediately act to assign these boons to anyone in particular, though the workforce set aside to work them was immediately tasked with assisting in repairs to Athemer's Folly, and with the mines left in the hands of the Curateship and thus the Civil Service, they began to decline.

In Winter 224, the Church chose to spend a sizeable number of locks to establish a township for the workers, and finally get to work fully establishing the mines through re-recruiting the lost workforce and so forth. To oversee the mines, the position of Abbot of Mivara was created to ensure the proper functionality of the mines.
