A leader of a School of Magic, Headmasters lead magical students and their teachers in the pursuit of magical knowledge and craft. They oversee experimentation within their Schools and guide Shardcircle culture into the future.
Election
The Season Headmasters are elected depends on the school (See below). They are elected by popular vote within the Shardcircle. If it is a Concordian School of Magic, then the candidates may come from any realm. If it is a Realmic School then it may only come from that Realm.
| School | Season of its Election |
| Andashi School of Gifts | Spring |
| De Re School of Embers | Autumn |
Term
Headmasters serve a term of two years, including the summit where they are elected. This effectively grants them four chances at research. They may immediately stand for re-election after this term if they wish. There is no term limit.
Powers and Responsibilities
Research
During the Summit, the Headmaster may submit research proposals to the Shardcircle at its meetings. These Research proposals will be for either a new potion, artisan’s craft or ceremony. The proposal may be vague (“A new Arcadian ceremony”) or specific (“A new Arcadian ceremony on low magnitude that grants those infused with its power the ability to wield twin blades of great length!”). If approved by the Shardcircle the Concord team will work with the Headmaster Out-of-game to balance the submission. After which it will be added to the list of possible potions, crafts or ceremonies.
Keys the Vault
Headmasters are the legal guardians and owners of phenomena stored within their School’s Vault. They may withdraw items from the Vault during their downtime. More information on The Vault’s can be found on the Vault page. Any questions or requests for guidance regarding the phenomena within their vault will be communicated to them by the Civil Service and will be their responsibility.
Provost
It is the duty of the Headmaster to ensure the safety and continued operation of their school. To ensure that it operates with the best intent towards The Concord and that they try to the best of their abilities to see new research done.
Appreciation
Headmasters can cast the 'Channel Waystone' Spell on a Concordian Citizen for the purposes of allowing them entrance to the Shardcircle. Unlike the normal use of the Channel Waystone spell, this only allows for a single journey to and from The Shardcircle. This power may only be used once a Summit.
