The people of Lerona Mere, since throwing off the shackles of their Artebazzani oppressors, have been those of liberty above all else. The importance of this freedom of body, mind, and spirit permeates every breath of Legend City, but few places more so than Ala Briller. From within, the Museographer is the conduit for the freedom of information, art, and wonder through the curation of the Wing of Brilliance; part-curator, part-director, and part-manager, the Museographer is responsible for the administration of the gallery within the wing. This position, though more clerical than many Liberartistes are used to being, provides access to that which all Liberartiste’s love: art and money.

Election

The Museographer is elected in the Autumn Summit. Any Lerona Merian may nominate themselves as a candidate for the Museographer. Only those of Lerona Mere who are Liberartistes may vote for the Museographer  - this reflects the reality that the Museographer may not need to be an artist themselves, but that they still need to be beloved by the artists that they support.

Term

The Museographer serves a term of two years, including the Summit where they are elected. They may immediately stand for re-election after this term if they wish. There is no term limit.

Powers and Responsibilities

Determined Donation - Each Season, the Museographer receives the excess funding for Ala Briller, after all upkeep has been accounted for. This funding varies from Season to Season, reflective of the fluctuating foot traffic to Ala Briller, however is typically within the range of 5 and 10 Locks.

Administrative Autonomy - Each Season, the Museographer has the opportunity to utilise the resources of the Ala Briller for one of two options:

  • Art of Ages Past - without the expenditure of funds, the Museographer may commission a piece of art inspired by a particular historical period or event. As is the nature of such commissions, the more distant the event from the artists making it, either in time or place, the less detailed or complete the creative piece may be. However, there is much to be learned from the written and visual artwork to be created, found, and pastiched from across The Concord.
  • Interpretive Investing - without the expenditure of funds, the Musepgrapher may commission an exhibition inspired by a current cultural ethos or cause that exists beyond Lerona Mere. Due to the nature of Legend City as a metropolis of culture, and a gateway to many of the realms within The Concord, these exhibitions markedly increase the engagement in such endeavours, both in their home-realms and beyond.

History

The title of Museographer is a new one, commissioned by Gisett Triboulett; as the Ala Brillier was designed to be a gallery in response to the artistic houses of Imperial Artebazzan, so too was the Museographer created in response to the Curators who would oversee these artistic houses. Dedicated to the liberty of the arts, rather than the creation of faux-exclusivity through elitism, the Museographer represents the generosity of the Heroes of Lerona Mere that funded it, bringing together a wealth of funds, expertise, and artistry from across The Concord.
