Overview
A temperamental title, the Warpriest sits alongside the Warmage as an advisor and representative to the War Chamber. However, where the Warmage advises on arcane skill and capability, the Warpriest has a more complex role. It is the duty of the Warpriest to ensure that the War Chamber is informed of the Churches abilities to affect the war effort, but perhaps more importantly, it is the responsibility of the Warpriest to ensure that the actions of the War Chamber do not damage the immortal soul of the Concord people, that the War Chamber does not engage in immoral conflict and that the most empowered military leaders have a priest close to hand to confide in.
Election
Constitutionally, the Warpriest is chosen by the High Priest of Arcadian at the request of the War Chamber. However, due to motions passed, the Warpriest is instead a role elected by the Council of Six whenever called to do so by the War Chamber.
Term
The Warpriest serves for one Summit only. They may immediately be re-elected and there is no term limit.
Powers and Responsibilities
Attendance - The Warpriest is allowed to attend the War Chamber, where they have a single vote. They are not permitted any aides.
Morality - The Warpriest is expected to ensure that the War Chamber remains morally upright and does not endanger the souls of The Concord and its soldiers through its waging of war. The Warpriest is expected to accomplish this through its vote, council and reporting to The Church.
Conduit - The Warpriest is expected to report to The Church their views on the actions of the War Chamber and to be available to other priests to discuss such matters. This means that while they are not required to attend the Council of Six, they are encouraged to do so, and have Right to Address as a member.
Advisor - The Warpriest is expected to provide information to the War Chamber in regards to The Churches abilities to perform ceremonies that may affect the War Effort.
History
The position of Warpriest has existed as long as the Concord has, although previously the position was an elected one before The Concordian Church split from the Artebazzani one in the year 221.
