The extensive armies, warfronts, and logistic of The Concordian military effort cry out for support, but often this concern falls to parochial or distracted ears. In an effort to facilitate co-ordination between the Senate and the War Chamber, as well as ensure Concordian armies are well supplied, The Warmaster was created. A co-ordinator of supply, quartermaster, and liaison, The Warmaster has a varied role within the Summit and beyond.

Election

The Warmaster is elected every Spring Summit by the Senate. Any Concordian citizen may stand for the position.

Term

Warmasters serve a term of one year. They may stand immediately for re-election after this term if they wish. There is no term limit.

Powers and Responsibilities

Attendance - The Warmaster is a voting member of the War Chamber.

Stipend - The Warmaster is granted a stipend from the Senate in order to pay for mercenaries, and other strategic support for armies and fleets of The Concord. This stipend is valued during the second Senate session each Summit, and released to The Warmaster following this session.

Quartermaster - The Warmaster is provided the power to submit a motion of ‘Emergency Resupply’ for one Fleet or Army each Senate Session. To propose this motion, the request must be submitted, in writing, to the Symposiarch no later than an hour prior to the Senate Session. The motion must be legible, describe the value of the emergency resupply sought, and be co-signed by the commander of that force. This motion will then be proposed during Concordian business.

History

Following years of discord between the Senate and the War Chamber, which was only ameliorated by the dedicated and voluntary actions of notable Concordian heroes, such as Free Captain Pierre Capulet, the Senate proposed and ratified this title in Spring 225. The motion was proposed by Senator Jacques Di’Zisseau of Mancante Terra.

The power of stipend of the Warmaster was modified during the Autumn Summit of 226, to be awarded in the second senation session of a summit, rather than the first.
