Clockwork Messengers of Machine

From Esterrapedia

A Stallia Ceremony - Magnitude 24 - Machine

Performing the Ceremony

This ceremony may only be performed during a Summit where The Precipice alignment to Stallia is in effect. Its effective Magnitude is 20.

Performing this Ceremony takes at least 5 minutes of roleplaying. This Ceremony targets one Army, represented by that Army's General, who must be present throughout, but need not be one of the priests performing the Ceremony.

This Ceremony is an Enchantment. A target may only be under one Enchantment effect at a time.

Effects

The Target Army may ignore the special effects of the Desert terrain. It may also ignore the terrain effects of territories that have the Frozen and Plagueheart traits, instead treating those territories as if they were normal terrain of that type. The army must still be affected by any modifications to movement costs from any traits of the territory.

The General of the Target Army experiences a Roleplaying Effect: Your mind is filled with ethereal ticking and skittering, and you find your things organized for you whenever you turn around. This leads to you being prompt, prepared, and generally more capable than normal, though perhaps a little more distracted by the imaginary sounds in your head at times.

The roleplaying and mechanical effects last either until the Precipice is aligned to a Sphere that is not Stallia, and the effects of that Sphere have begun to manifest, or until the Precipice is not aligned at all, and Stallia's effects on the Mortal Sphere from the Precipice have faded.

Description

The blessed servants of Machine, all varied manner of mechanical mischief and artifice, descend on the army en masse, jovial assistance in their entirely uncomprehensible innards. They shimmer with pale light whenever they are occasionally spotted flitting from place to place, though most of the time they are heard more than actually seen, the ticking and skittering moving around within the camp.

They run messages that are left out for them with untiring swiftness, they carry documents from place to place, and they generally ensure that the information and planning of the army is performed perfectly and with utmost efficiency. Soldiers will wake to find their items sorted and folded in esoteric categories (most to least brown, alphabetical in order of constituent parts, age of the item's maker), but still sorted nonetheless. With camp administration and life improved so substantially, soldiers are able to focus on what matters most: fighting hard and staying alive - hinderances from their surroundings be damned.

Performing the Ceremony

Drawn, naturally, from Machine, this ceremony is aided by the assistance of many hands, each performing some task to aid in the overall ceremony itself. These small tasks, when drawn together, can come to make a greater whole, showing that each person has something of worth to contribute to the greater whole, and can each in their own way contribute to the knowledge gathered in the Square.

Petitioning Machine with new drawings and sketches of potential helpers, particularly when drawn by those young heroes with the most active of imaginations, has been sometimes recorded historically to have been of benefit in the quality (if not the practical functionality) of the Messengers which have been sent from the Sphere of Stars.
