An Arcadian Ceremony - Magnitude 30 - The Thunderbolt
Performing this Ceremony takes at least 10 minutes of roleplaying. This Ceremony targets a Fleet.
This Ceremony is an Enchantment. A target may only be under one Enchantment effect at a time.
Effects
The target Fleet is blessed with the speed of the Thunderbolt itself; strong but reliable winds flowing in constantly over their sides, and a stormfront roiling the sea in their wake. Each vessel in the fleet feels its effects, their hulls skimming the surface at a pace that could only be supernatural, the winds constantly on their side.
During the next season, the target Fleet gains an additional 5 Fleet Movement Value. In addition, the Admiral of the target Fleet gains the following roleplaying effect: You are the tempest on the ocean, swift both to anger and to action as the whims of the weathers of your mood lash you back and forth.
Description
There is nothing more of a blessing to a Captain or an Admiral than a reliable breeze over the quarter of their ship - those who hear the name of this Ceremony envision a tempest gale howling over the ships to throw them forward in a hurricane of movement, but they are far from the truth. A wind that never gusts, never strains on well-tied ropes, and seems to move with the tiller - supernaturally blessing the ships to move as fast as their sails and masts allow - that is what blesses the target of this Ceremony.
The tempest follows behind. A great storm front sweeping across the ocean in the wake of the fleet, the storm winds pushing ahead to fuel the flowing air currents, but never catching the fleet as it speeds across the ocean.
The tempest also lives in the Admiral of the Fleet, whose moods become as changing as the storm and tides, and becomes quick to anger at the slightest provocation. This embodies itself as a desire to act on things, to be decisive and quick about their work, and to let no slight slip by unanswered.
Performing the Ceremony
This Ceremony, drawn from The Thunderbolt, was developed by Headmaster Azime Rais of The Andashi School of Gifts, and as such has no history to draw from. The researchers have found that it works best if the Admiral of the target fleet is made a part of the Ceremony, even if they have no Divine Lore to add to it. The Admiral speaking decisively of the fleet actions they are to take in the following season, particularly when questioned by the performing priests, seem to assist greatly.
