Eternals of Lumos
The Setting Sun
Representing the true essence of valiant goodness and holiness, The Setting Sun is impossible even for its Heralds to look upon. To stand before evil and to strike boldly out into the darkness are as truly evident and divine as the sun itself. Revealing itself in the spectacular hues of a sunset sky, and heavy weight of arms and armor, The Setting Sun calls us to an endless crusade against the impious and evil.
The Ashen Moon
Representing giving and self sacrifice even unto the utmost end, The Ashen Moon is an equally sorrowful and peaceful entity. It calls us to heal others even in our own death throes, to throw ourselves in front of the blow that would slay another if it guarantees their salvation, and to take upon our shoulders the burdens of others. Revealing itself in the quiet sounds of moonlit vigils, and in every tear shed for a lost martyr, The Ashen Moon feels to be drawing ever closer to the newborn Concord.
The Twilight
Representing the strength and bravery of staying strong to one’s own convictions no matter the cost, The Twilight’s touch is something that all the ambitious and bringers of change in the world know well. Against all odds, all scorn and, all slander to hold true to one’s convictions is no easy feat, particularly when Lumos calls you to stand openly in the defense of others’ innocence. Revealing itself in the roar of the angry crowd, and the heat of a lantern at night, The Twilight’s call to action and defiance has been the end of many an idealist.
Heralds of Lumos
The Golden Warrior
Subordinate Herald of The Setting Sun, The Golden Warrior’s age seems to change with the passage of the day, but ever does she stand as tall and bright as the noon-day sun. Through word and deed she calls us to protect those who follow us, and to throw ourselves headlong towards anything that threatens those that you love. To be resplendent and beloved is to draw others to Grace and glory with you.
The Eternal Page
Subordinate Herald of The Setting Sun, The Eternal Page leads us to (in youth or in instruction) throw ourselves deeply into every opportunity we can reach. Do anything, try everything, be boundless in our wonder and enthusiasm for life. While you do these things, both watch and serve your teachers well, for they are well worthy of your respect.
The Dawn’s Shield
Subordinate Herald of The Setting Sun, The Dawn’s Shield is the divine and spheric defender of innocence, and teaches us that when innocence is lost, it is nearly impossible to recover. Throw yourself into harm, put your body on the line, and volunteer yourself to the pyre before you allow an innocent to come to harm.
The Lantern of Souls
Subordinate Herald of The Ashen Moon, The Lantern of Souls teaches us that martyrdom and sacrifice do not guarantee success in the Journey if the cause the life is laid down for is flawed. Be careful of the causes you choose to devote yourself to. The Lantern shepherds the most brilliantly bright and spheric souls from the broken shells of their bodies to the glories of the Spheres.
The Peacegiver
Subordinate Herald of The Ashen Moon, The Peacegiver teaches us that suffering in the process of dying is not, itself, noble. The Peacegiver demands that those who are to pass on to the Journey do so without undue agonies, and in doing so teaches us that death itself can be a gift. This passes beyond simply death though, and though to struggle is divine, pain is not, and to relieve others of pain is a Graceful act.
The Desperate Father
Subordinate Herald of The Ashen Moon, The Desperate Father is a grim reminder to us all that when we go to a glorious death, or throw our life away for others, there are always those left behind who will miss and mourn you. Be not eager to die, nor let your lust for glory end your life too young, for you will never be able to atone for the pain you leave behind after you have passed on to the Journey.
The Eternity
Subordinate Herald of The Twilight, The Eternity is the essence of stubborn and unchanging strength of will, no matter the odds. Through action, we are taught that to have a conviction, even a flawed one, gives you drive and purpose, and by doing so you avoid the pitfall of indecision. Even if you are wrong, to act and move forward is superior to failing to act and falling behind.
The Faded Star
Subordinate Herald of The Twilight, The Faded Star is a reminder that being the only one to hold a belief or stand up for something can be hard, and though it is divine to do so, be wary that in doing so you are not yourself diminished. Sometimes it is enough to know that you believe something, and best to stop shouting it to the streets if it is only causing you to come to harm.
The Twisting Tides
Subordinate Herald of The Twilight, The Twisting Tides teaches us to avoid the two-faced and the deceptive - those who will say one thing to your face and another to your back. Do not let yourself be led astray by the honeyed words of someone to whom promises are something to be said and then forgotten.
