Eternals of Anarch
The Crucible
Representing the concept of Divine Destruction in all its many forms, The Crucible is often an unwanted influence to those it reaches out and touches. Testing the strength of relationships, eroding the strength of governments, and throwing trial after tribulation at individuals in a time of flux, The Crucible nonetheless represents the need for change, and the destruction inherent in the act of doing so. Revealing itself in the scorching heat of fire, and the agony of loss, The Crucible must always be respected, even if it is not loved.
The Phoenix
Representing the concept of Rebirth and Growth from Adversity, The Phoenix is a common allegory and subject of Anarch sermons. Seen in the passage of youth, the notches on door frames as a child reaches their potential, and the never ending task of all humans to better themselves until at last they should return to the Journey, the Phoenix is the representation of the need for change in our lives. Revealing itself in the carpet of green growth after a fire or at the coming of spring, and the cries of the newborn, The Phoenix teaches us that every end is a new beginning.
The Peak
Representing the chaos and freedom of the unchained soul, The Peak is aspirational and powerful to those who can seek to emulate its teachings. To be free in life, to have no fetters to hold one back, to constantly seek new heights and horizons - many are those who wish these for themselves, even as the many realities of the mortal Sphere weigh them down. Still, as it reveals itself in the triumphant cry of a climber atop a ridge, and the rushing roar of the winds in high places, The Peak calls us to ever strive for the freedom we desire.
Heralds of Anarch
The Firebrand
Subordinate Herald of The Crucible, The Firebrand is the herald of destruction incarnate, calling always and ever for the destruction of what exists. As much of a rabble-rousing troublemaker as could be expected of the title he bears, the Firebrand is often an unwelcome presence to those with much to gain from the status quo, but an equally powerful rallying cry for those who have a boot planted squarely on their necks.
The Shard Gatherer
Subordinate Herald of The Crucible, The Shard Gatherer tends to follow closely behind her brother, The Firebrand. She represents taking only what is worth remembering or repairing from the ashes of that which has been broken. She remembers the echoes of all that has been destroyed by The Firebrand, or in his name, but uses only the best of it to influence what is built in his wake.
The Linkbreaker
Subordinate Herald of The Crucible, The Linkbreaker is a force of nature, appearing out of nowhere to smash the shackles of slaves and throw their masters from their high balconies. Ever the sword and hammer of the oppressed, in more peaceful and righteous places The Linkbreaker also serves as the mediary for those who seek to cut toxic social ties that bind them to stagnation.
The Young Architect
Subordinate Herald of The Phoenix, The Young Architect represents the pressures and difficulties of growth. We know that growing is hard, and we must deal with hard truths and harder tasks in order to change permanently for the better, but The Young Architect shows us that not only should we simply get on with it, we must get on with improving things, lest they never get started at all.
The Unfettered
Subordinate Herald of The Phoenix, The Unfettered represents the difficulties in breaking the mold that has been cast for us by others, and emerging gloriously from one’s shell. From the many draping chains that adorn them, there is also the warning of leaving a task half-finished, but from the brilliant hue of liberated flesh there is the promise of a better end after a grueling journey.
The Herald of Grace
Subordinate Herald of The Phoenix, The Herald of Grace represents the successful change and development that leads to a life well lived. The Herald of Grace has a vaunted task in the Spheres, escorting the most noteworthy of souls who shall become Graces back from the Journey for their next life, regardless of what Sphere they may have last come from.
The Wanderer
Subordinate Herald of The Peak, The Wanderer teaches us to go where we will in order to understand the world, and to pick up pieces of it as we go in order to become who we are meant to be. The Wanderer is the closest of the Anarch Heralds to Arcadian, and serves as a link to both in the teachings we receive.
The Star Sailor
Subordinate Herald of The Peak, The Star Sailor teaches us to push through, to navigate the roughest storms for the only way is forward. We grow through experience, and only through experiencing the furthest reaches and discovering that which other have yet to reach, or have missed on their journey, will we have truly unique experiences of our own.
The Falling Pebble
Subordinate Herald of The Peak, The Falling Pebble is the quiet but vital strike of the first stone in an avalanche. We are taught through example to be the first to act against the status quo, and that being the one who starts the movement of progress is a Divine act, despite the destruction that might come of it.
