For every cutesy play, mindful research, or demure request that a Concordian Hero makes, there are dozens of follow-on actions. Coins move people, people move tools, tools move cities, and cities move destinies, all on the ripples of the Concordian Heroes.
Attempting to stay ahead and abreast of these ripples is The Concordian Civil Service. A foolish cohort, but a dedicated one. These bean counters bring forth the might of The Concord’s not inconsiderable bureaucracy, hoping that by corralling the Heroes they might be better positioned to deal with their whims.
Title Changes
As The Concord shifts and changes, it is normal for some of the many powerful titles that control the levers of power to also change. Those changes are detailed below.
The Lake Ladure Quarry deed, following some influence by unknown forces, now produces a small amount of Crystal Mana in addition to its bounty of Arcstone.
The presence of a seemingly benevolent fey creature in the Eisen Orchard has produced a similar effect, where the Eisen Orchard will produce a small amount of herbs in addition to Thunder Oak each season.
Following review by The Civil Service, The Heterodox, The Abbott of Mivara and the Bursar of the Church have received some amendments to their powers and responsibilities.
Following review by The Civil Service, the Church Envoy to the Shardcircle and the Scribe of the Church have both been struck as titles. Such single-duty titles are better served as tasks or a shared responsibility of Priests, rather than a title in the Concordian sense.
Following advice by The Wise Council, the title of Duke of Heartsgrave has been opened to candidates from Everguarde as well as Heartsgrave. The electors will still only be drawn from the Nobility of Heartsgrave. This has been done to reflect the role of Heartsgrave in managing the northern Duchy of Everguarde while the Noble peers of Bordevar recover.
Quartermaster’s Report
There has been little shifting in The Concord’s infrastructure as the purse strings of The Senate continue to tighten. However, that is not to say there have been no changes.
Lost amidst notation from the last Summer Summit were orders to increase the size of the 1st Banner of Bordevar from five thousand to seven-and-a-half thousand fighting Knights and retainers. Imagine the panic and surprise when reports came back that these troops were now ready to muster and join their brethren. While The Civil Service scrambles to find logistical support for these troops, they have joined the army in Korrence and await orders.
Concordian surveyors have completed their assessment of Magli’s Gift, the Arcstone quarry in Mukarrem and have certified it complete. The Quarry has been entered into Concordian records and will be available for auction within The Exchange.
Treasury Report
The Concordian Treasury reports the following:
The Concordian Treasury at the beginning of the Summer Summit is expected to be valued at thirty-five vaults. This is after the calculation of costs, income and assured expenses such as payments to The Shardcircle and Academy.
Current expenditure to support Concordian efforts is valued at sixty-three vaults.
Current income from Concordian taxation is valued at eighty-one vaults, seven locks, five keys.
The position of Treasurer to The Senate is held by Lord Lanval Segremore of Bordevar. The next election is in Winter 225.
