An Arcadian Ceremony - Magnitude 10 - The Thunderbolt
Performing the Ceremony
Performing this Ceremony takes at least 2 minutes of roleplaying. This Ceremony targets at least three characters who must be present throughout, but need not be one of the priests performing the Ceremony.
This Ceremony is an Enchantment. A target may only be under one Enchantment effect at a time.
Effects
Target group of musicians (minimum 3) find their talent in true alignment with the Spheres. Once per day, they may add musical support (in the form of a song or other musical piece) to a Ceremony being cast that has a minimum magnitude of 8. Collectively, they count as if they were an additional priest of Divine Lore 3 and count as having spent 3 Crystal Mana.
The musical group does not need to be a part of the Sect performing the Ceremony, though at least one of the musicians must share a realm with a Sect involved in the ritual. Musicians who would qualify to participate in the ritual normally (has appropriate Divine Lore, part of the sect) may additionally contribute their Divine Lore as if they were a regular participant.
The musical group does not count as having mastered the Ceremony when using this ability, though individuals within the musical group also eligible to participate in the ritual as Priests may still add their mastery in addition to their base Divine Lore.
This effect lasts the remainder of the event.
Description
One of the key Ceremonies that those of an artistic or musical nature point to in order to argue that Arcadian is the patron Sphere of artistry, this Ceremony serves as a direct link between the musicians and the Sphere, their music echoing out to serve as a congregation of sound. The musicians do not gain any additional magical skill, or any effects that they can call forth, but their performances are blessed and sanctified, becoming able to draw forth the powers of a Sphere as if they had a direct connection to it.
The group must play all together in harmony - in a departure from most Arcadian trials they cannot gain this benefit alone - but are able to raise the power of a Ceremony to new heights through their music, drawing more power and Grace from the Spheres than would otherwise have been possible. Many people will gather to watch these Ceremonies or raise their voices to the tune if they know them, for these spectacles are not to be missed.
Performing the Ceremony
Drawn from The Thunderbolt, embodying the inspiration and power of artistry to inspire and lift others, this Ceremony is performed as a herald of what is to come. Many priests will take a back seat as they perform this, and let the music and qualities of the Chorus speak for themselves, proving their worthiness to Arcadian as they receive their blessings. Outside of an actual performance, things like impromptu artworks, poetry, and other creativity can be used in some measure here to set the stage for the Chorus to take on the mantle of being actively listened to by Arcadian Eternals
In some very rare circumstances, this ceremony has caused the arrival of one of the Heralds of Arcadian, who arrive as it concludes to either bring praise or criticisms from the Eternal who has listened to the group. Particularly poor performances have been known to actually cause the group to be cursed by the visiting Herald, who either take great pity on the cursed individuals, or apply the curse with glee - depending on who is sent to deliver the baleful edict.
