An Arcadian Ceremony - Magnitude 25 - The Ardent Mind
Performing the Ceremony
Performing this Ceremony takes at least 5 minutes of roleplaying. This Ceremony targets a region.
This Ceremony is an Enchantment. A target may only be under one Enchantment effect at a time.
Effects
Target region is blessed with supernatural fortitude. Simple illnesses and infections are treated easier, if not entirely repulsed from the body. This includes early stages of severe illness such as Blasserstreit. The enchantment will have little effect on wounds or more severe cases of disease.
During the next season, Herb Gardens and Farms in the target region will produce as if they are one tier higher.
Description
The greatest killer of humankind is not war, nor hunger, nor authoritarian purges, but rather is maladies - the emperors of death. Countless souls have had their lives cut short by the cruel knife of disease, and countless more have had the course of their lives changed forever by permanent effects brought on by the failures of the body. As the body is the domain of Arcadian, it is no surprise that it is the Sphere that will protect those bodies so they can live out their full potential.
Across the target province, those sick abed simply rise - miraculously healed of all but the very worst diseases. Colds and flus die out almost entirely, and thus the province remains healthy for a good long time until travellers bring them back in from elsewhere. With less people requiring medicine, and more people healthy to work the fields, productivity in Farms and Herb Gardens flourish, as their stockpiles grow amidst the good fortune of the season.
Performing the Ceremony
This Ceremony, drawn from The Ardent Mind, was developed by The Concord, and as such has no history to draw from. The researchers have found that it works best when those previously afflicted by serious maladies are called upon (whether they are a priest or not) to speak their story of recovery and grace, and to show that they are once again hale and healthy - or as close to it as they could be given whatever affliction they had.
