An Arcadian Ceremony - Magnitude 15 - The Thunderbolt
Performing the Ceremony
Performing this Ceremony takes at least 5 minutes of roleplaying. This Ceremony targets a character who must be present throughout, but need not be one of the priests performing the Ceremony.
This Ceremony is an Enchantment. A target may only be under one Enchantment effect at a time.
Effects
The target may call Break twice per day with a Greatweapon for no cost.
If you recover all energy from an effect, it also recovers the uses of this ability.
As long as they are enchanted the target experiences a roleplaying effect: You seek to act now in all things, rather than worry about complicated plans, and seek to solve problems in the most straightforward physical manner available.
The roleplaying and mechanical effect lasts until the end of the event.
Description
The first time someone utilizes the power of this Ceremony, they are always surprised by how it feels - not because it fills them with enormous strength, or that their weapon bends and creaks with the force of the blow, but that actually it feels like nothing at all has changed, despite the clearly different outcome. Activating this power and striking a weapon or shield feels just like a normal strike, but the target splinters and breaks as though crushed by a weight far, far greater than what was applied - it is as if something else entirely reached out and just broke the weapon into pieces with invisible fingers, rather than the force of the blow actually doing the damage.
Much as a broken tree trunk falls in the fastest route towards the ground, so too does an individual blessed by this Ceremony move cleanly and with purpose towards the solution of their problems, rather than dilly dallying around with plans or schemes. The direct route, with this power at their side, is often the best route, they claim. Such a feeling is certainly Sphere-sent, as even the craftiest of people become straightforward when under the effects of this Ceremony.
Performing the Ceremony
This Ceremony, straightforward and direct as it is, is drawn from the Thunderbolt. For any Ceremony with a clear nature theme, there is always a common refrain of natural implements and plantlife, but this Ceremony turns it on its proverbial head by focusing on the destruction of plants rather than their care. Branches snapped, logs split, weeds uprooted - all of these are common themes used in the rituals around and involved in this Ceremony.
In terms of the words and rituals used by the Priests involved, there may be exhortations to be direct and to act without restraint - to refuse to be tied down by tradition or wariness, but to instead throw oneself into the flames of conflict so as to come out unscathed. There may also, this being an Arcadian ceremony, be a calling to remember that while great power is being imparted, it is just a temporary thing, and that to become used to having that much power without it being truly your own is a path to wastefulness and indolence.
