An Arcadian Ceremony - Magnitude 30 - The Thunderbolt
Performing this Ceremony takes at least 10 minutes of roleplaying. This Ceremony targets an Army.
This Ceremony is an Enchantment. A target may only be under one Enchantment effect at a time.
Effects
The target army is blessed with divine decisiveness, and behind them clouds of lightning and thunder follow. Each soldier or warrior feels its effects, their feet moving at a pace that could only be supernatural, requiring far less rest than would otherwise be needed. Even those supply trains that follow such a force feel the effects of this Ceremony.
During the next season, the target Army gains an additional 6 Army Movement Value. In addition the General of the target Army gains the following roleplaying effect: The character is filled with a sureness in their actions, their words, even the very steps they take. They are decisive, and quick to make decisions.
Description
Dark clouds form above the stationary Army not long after the casting of this Ceremony, holding no rain but instead flashing silver and white as lightning sparks within it. No rain falls from these clouds, and no lightning exits its dark border so long as the force stays put. The cloud, seeming to cover the width and length of the Army no matter how they muster, feels to those beneath it as if it infuses them with power of action.
Once in motion, the dark clouds begin to drift behind the force rather than above it, but always within sight. Lightning begins to arc and flash as it would naturally, but still no rain falls, and strangely no fires are started. It feels as if it nips the heels of the moving force, but still their infused decisiveness remains and it is almost as if such a thing speeds them along. It is only when they finally reach their destination that the clouds dissipate as if they were never there at all, and the feeling fades.
Performing the Ceremony
This Ceremony, drawn from The Thunderbolt, was developed by Headmaster Azime Rais of The Andashi School of Gifts, and as such has no history to draw from. The researchers have found that it works best if the General of the target army is made a part of the Ceremony, even if they have no Divine Lore to add to it. The General speaking decisively to the actions they are to take, particularly when questioned by the performing priests, seem to assist greatly.
