Swift Leaping Hare

Performing the Ceremony

Performing this Ceremony takes at least 2 minutes of roleplaying. This Ceremony targets a character who must be present throughout but need not be one of the priests performing the Ceremony.

This Ceremony is an Enchantment. A target may only be under one Enchantment effect at a time.

Effects

The target character may spend 1 energy to call Knockback with a melee weapon.

As long as they are enchanted the target experiences a roleplaying effect: The character is filled with a nervous excitement and temperament. Prone to bolting - either in enthusiasm or fear - it is this vibrating energy that bursts forth in smashing power on occasion when it reaches a boiling point.

The roleplaying and mechanical effect lasts until the end of the event.

Description

The loud cracking twigs and leaves beneath the foot of the suddenly dashing hare is echoed spherefold in the resounding splintering of wood and bone when struck by the weapons of those who are blessed by this Ceremony. While the nervous energy of the hare lives within them, these blessed are on edge, excitable, and prone to snap fight or flight responses - commonly choosing to strike first or immediately flee when surprised or provoked.

It is unfortunate to be on the end of the strikes of those blessed by this Ceremony, for their strikes can be empowered with incredible brute strength - able to send a fully grown man soaring clear off his feet.

Performing the Ceremony

A Ceremony drawn deeply from The Thunderbolt, this Ceremony involves both excitement and fright in equal measure. The priest casting the Ceremony may attempt to spook their targets, or task them with practicing the explosive movements they will need their muscles to master in order to fully make use of the benefits of this Ceremony. A priest will know that they have prepared their target perfectly if they are already so excited or jittery that they do not even notice when the magical nervousness and excitement take over when the Ceremony completes.
