An Arcadian Ceremony - Magnitude 20 - The Thunderbolt
Performing the Ceremony
Performing this Ceremony takes at least 10 minutes of roleplaying. This Ceremony targets a character who must be present throughout but need not be one of the priests performing the Ceremony.
This Ceremony is an Enchantment. A target may only be under one Enchantment effect at a time.
Effects
The target character may cast a single Arc Knockback once per day for no cost.
If you recover all energy from an effect, it also recovers the uses of this ability.
As long as they are enchanted the target experiences a roleplaying effect: Your voice swings one way or the other, with no real moderation - you can now only shout or whisper in regular conversation, and find silence unbearable
The roleplaying and mechanical effect lasts until the end of the event.
Description
The human voice is an extraordinary thing, and a blessing for which the Spheres have greatly graced us. Through our words we can already harm others, by telling harsh truths, or harmful lies. It is not common, however, for someone to be physically hurt by someone's voice - through the power of Arcadian however, that is no longer the case.
Welling up inside the target's lungs is the the voices of a thousand souls shouting as they charge into battle, all contained inside one small person. The boom of noise and shockwave of force released when they let out a shout can physically knock people off their feet, or cause them to react instinctively in shock, moving away from the blessed one sharply.
Alas, this does come with a cost - the moderation of volume is not something easily done with that kind of power rumbling in your chest, so the targets of this Ceremony tend to only be able to whisper or shout their words, with very little option for anything in between.
Performing the Ceremony
Drawn from The Thunderbolt, and perhaps drawn quite plainly from it's namesake's deafening sound, words and sound in general are the centrepiece of this Ceremony. The target could be called on to shout their lungs out for the duration, joined by the priests around them. Perhaps war cries are sounded, banners raised high and boots stamped as the oaths of yesterday are called again. Loud drums or the crash of gauntlet on shield could echo through the Square as a Band of warriors holler their excited emotions into the air in praise of Arcadian.
Whatever form this Ceremony takes, ultimately it's going to be a noisy one...
