(Redirected from Cakenomics Guide)

Gamenomics is our word for utilising in game money (Keys, Locks, and Vaults) to trade with other players for non-game objects (things that aren’t resources or similar items). It is accepted, so long as you stay within the community behaviour rules of Concord, to offer for trade goods and services to other players in exchange for in game money.  There are some quite important guidelines to this that we ask everyone to follow.

  1. All trading of anything in character must happen only during appropriate in character events such as sanctioned events or during game hours at a Summit. In doing this, your trading should add to the event and the world of Concord rather than be a simple means to an end.
  2. We ask that players do not offer for sale an excessive amount of things that are highly expensive. If your budget for stock exceeds $500 for an enterprise per event we ask that you seek approval from the Concord team at [email protected]. Importantly, this value is per enterprise, rather than per player. We will be observing in the in game economy and may ask people to modify things if necessary but will always seek to work with players to make this a great experience for everyone.
  3. It is important to be clear about what is being sold.  Artisan and potion tags/cards must be attached to a prop during game, including when being offered for sale. Be clear about if it is just the in game card/tag that is being traded or if the trade includes transfer of the physical prop as well.  Arguments about trade are acceptable and fun, so long as they are IN CHARACTER, so do everything possible to ensure that there is no out of character confusion about what has been purchased.
  4. Note that NO food items of ANY kind may be traded for legal tender (Australian dollars) unless appropriate registration and licenses are acquired and copies are shown to the Concord team or displayed publicly where the item is traded.
  5. All items or services sold or traded through Gamenomics should add to the event, both through appearance and function. Food service locations should be appropriately disguised as being in-theme (while still fullfilling required safety). Deliberately attempting to game the system through vast expenditure of OOC funds or similar will be cause for review by the Concord team and possible disciplinary action.

Food and Drink Guidelines

(Please note that these guidelines only apply to food that is given to other attendees through the method of Gamenomics. Food and drinked gifted between friends or associates is up to those involved to ensure is safe.)

Food and drink exchanges have undergone some significant changes to ensure food safety requirements are met in accordance with the Food Standards Code. Because of these changes we ask that you ensure that food and drink trades fall into one of the following categories and that you personally have satisfied all legal requirements for the category your intended method of trade falls into.

Category 1 - No Further Restrictions

Only food and drink that satisfies all of the following requirements may be sold for in game currency with no additional requirements on you as regards the Boddington Shire or the Concord team outside of the general safety rules of the event, including that it is not allowed that minors consume alcohol at Concord events.

  1. The food and/or drink item is retained in its original packaging until sale when it may be removed from its packaging directly to a clean plate/vessel/container for consumption by the purchaser or traded with original packaging remaining intact. This is to ensure there is no cross contamination of food and allergens are appropriately declared.
  2. Any allergy risk potential in regards the food and/or drink are clearly marked on the original packaging (where applicable) and these are made available for any purchaser to peruse.
  3. The food and/or drink is of a ‘low risk’ category and not requiring refrigeration.

Such items should be disguised to be more in character, but the original packaging must remain in place until served (but can be left for the purchaser to remove if preferred).

Some examples of items that would fit under this ‘low risk’ category include:

  • Packaged drinks that are opened to be poured into a cleaned vessel or the purchasers own provided vessel. This includes soft drinks so long as they do not require refrigeration to remain safe.
  • Tea and Coffee served fresh for immediate consumption.  Sugar should be pre-packaged packets.  Milk, if used, must be from a UHT/refrigerated source opened and used within 4 hours of opening. After 4 hours the milk must be disposed if not consumed.
  • Muesli bars sold direct from individual packaging.
  • Lollies and confectionary transferred direct from individual packaging
  • Biscuits/cookies served directly from their packaging
  • Whole, unpeeled fruit and vegetables
  • Cordial made from commercial cordial diluted with potable fresh water

Category 2 - Clearance Required

Food service that satisfies the "Sausage sizzles and barbecues” PDF (linked at the bottom of this page) does not require Boddington Shire approval, however it is required that all of the guidelines of the PDF are followed as regards safe food service practices. The Concord Team will require notification of your intention to provide any food under these guidelines and we will be ensuring that safe food practices are followed. We will also be inviting the local Shire staff responsible to visit our event to check that we are appropriately compliant during the event. Please note adequate temporary utensil washing facilities and hand washing facilities must be available as outlined in the PDF.

Pay close attention to the use of appropriate preparation, storage (including refrigeration and cooling), and cooking of food and ensure that you are aware of the need for access to appropriate temperature regulation in storage for items such as meat, cheese, butter, etc.

Examples of food that is appropriate for this purpose include:

  • Sausages cooked and served in bread (purchased commercially and kept in original package until serving).
  • Barbecue meats/burgers/etc
  • Eggs and Bacon
  • Toasties with cheese and processed meats
  • Jerky produced in a commercial kitchen or purchased from a commercial supplier.
  • Fresh made pizzas cooked in a pizza oven and served for direct consumption.
  • BBQ cooked mushrooms, onion, and sliced vegetables (potato, sweet potato etc).

Freshly made juice made from whole fruits/vegetables (not previously peeled/sliced), including lemonade (fresh lemon juice, water, sugar). Juice must be made fresh and disposed after 4 hours if not consumed.

Category 3 - Requiring Formal Approval

All other food is not appropriate to be traded under the Gamenomics system unless the vendor provides to Concord evidence that they have secured permission from Boddington Shire.  Such vendors must follow any requirements as per such approval and must be aware that the Concord team will consider action if it is shown that they are not.

Alcohol and Gamenomics

All Alcoholic beverages must not be traded under the Gamenomics system unless all the requirements of the  Liquor Control Act 1988 are fulfilled, including any licencing requirements. The sale of alcohol through gamenomics is possible, but require additional setup and licencing. If you are interested in doing so, please contact the Concord Team at [email protected]
