A player group represents a unified group of characters who are allied in achieving the same goals at Concord. Player Groups come in a variety of sizes, focuses and intensities throughout the various Realms of Concord and their peoples. All groups are linked to their members through a bond blessed by the spheres (see details below) along with the oaths that bind them together.
From an OOC perspective, groups are useful in linking characters together and giving friends a clear IC reason for playing together. It gives players a chance to act for something bigger than they are that they also get to define and create. Good groups are also one of the best-supporting frameworks for getting new players into Concord and the Hobby as a whole.
Each Realm has their own page detailing how different groups fit the setting of their Realm and even include particular Band types that form special cultural roles within their society. The Concord team recommends checking these out and using them as the template for your own group within the world of Concord.
Each Realm has distinct themes and rules for creating a realmic group. They can be found below.

Types of Group
- Bands
- Bands organisations bound by loyalty, history, skill, home or a combination of these things. They are groups that seek to change the world of Concord together. Bands operate Enterprises, which are powerful investments managed by the band, while also gaining benefits from Concordia, a kind of magic item. Bands must be composed of characters from the same Realm.
- Details on creating, joining, and operating a band can be found on the Band page.
- Sects
- Sects are religious organisations of priests that intend to perform ceremonies together. During creation, a sect must name up to two Spheres that it champions. Sects gain the benefit of reliquaries and may combine their Divine Lore for the purposes of performing ceremonies of Sphere(s) it champions. Sects must be composed of characters from the same Realm
